The Council of Garden Clubs of Virginia Beach, Inc. offers several awards for both club and individual efforts in
beautification, education, conservation, participation, preservation, design, achievement, civic improvement and community
outreach. There are also awards and scholarships for youth of all ages.
Annual Awards Program

This Program is divided into three main categories based on the source of the award:

Council of Garden Clubs of Virginia Beach, Inc. - awards and scholarships primarily focused on club events
and projects |

Past Presidents - awards on a wide variety of projects and events for clubs and individuals |
|
Individuals - awards for civic improvement, flower arranging, conservation, and club cooperative efforts. |

Youth Awards Program
|

|
There are awards for youth of all ages including Nature Camp scholarships for those in grades 5 - 12, and a
"good citizen" type award for girls aged 14 and under. |
Conservation Awards Program
|

|
These are club awards offered by the Virginia Beach Beautification Commission and Lynnhaven River NOW for
environmentally beneficial gardening projects. |
ABC Awards Program (formerly HANDS)
|

The Awards of Beautification and Conservation Program is designed to stimulate and assist
garden clubs in taking the lead in community improvement, environmental improvement, and beautification.
The ABC Program in Virginia Beach is sponsored by the Council of Garden Clubs of Virginia Beach, Inc. through a grant
("seed money") from Mr. Richard S. Foster, owner of Baymark Construction Corporation, and the Virginia Beach
Beautification Commission.
